Robert Rudolph Dreding

BYRAM — Robert Rudolph Dreding went home to our Lord Feb. 4, 2016, at the age of 80.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with a one-hour visitation prior to service time at the church.
Interment will follow at Palestine Cemetery in Harrisville.
He was born in Laurel on April 29, 1935, living a long, fulfilling life, inspiring many people along the way.
Mr. Dreding served in the Army National Guard for 42 years from July 1953 to April 1995, retiring with the rank of CW4 warrant officer. He served on the civilian side of the Army National Guard from April 1995 to present as the warehouse supply clerk and publications management specialist. Also he was a longtime member of the Masons at Capitol Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Beneva Dreding; his daughter, Stacy Davidson; parents, Oliver Stark Dreding and Navis Irene Pope; brothers, James Dreding and Howard Dreding; and sister, Ann Grammer.
Survivors include his daughters, Cynthia Blackmon and her husband Kenneth Blackmon of Houston, Texas, and Darlene Taylor and her husband Kevin Taylor of Vicksburg; son-in-law Robert Davidson of Vicksburg; grandsons, Richard Blackmon and his wife Sarah Blackmon of Houston, Texas, Stephen Blackmon of Houston, Texas, Kaden Taylor and Brady Taylor of Vicksburg; many nieces, nephews and his entire Hillcrest Baptist Church Family.
