Funeral services for Eddie Dean Davis will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, with Bishop Edward Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with family present from 6 to 7, and Saturday at the church from noon until the hour of service.

Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at Promise Specialty Hospital. He was 68.

Born in Vicksburg, he was a graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, Class of 1966, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a former employee of the U.S. Postal Service, and the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Knight; his mother and stepfather, Dora Lee Davis Hawkins and Henry Dean Hawkins Sr.; and his brother, Henry Dean Hawkins Jr.

Survivors include one daughter, Rashelle Davis of Washington State; two sisters, Deloris Davis Lawrence of Vicksburg and Vera Davis of Detroit; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
