The Vicksburg-Warren County area is under a limited threat of severe weather Tuesday afternoon and evening.

John Elfer, Warren County Emergency Management director, said strong winds could be associated with Tuesday’s storms.

He encourages all residents to monitor local forecasts and be aware of changing weather conditions.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms for Central and South Central Mississippi Tuesday afternoon and evening with the primary threat being localized damaging wind gusts to 60 miles per hour and quarter-sized hail.
