CARLISLE — James Ellis Davis died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Claiborne County Medical Center in Port Gibson. He was 53.

Mr. Davis was a member of New Mt. Olive Church.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Lamont Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Shoulders-Davis of Carlisle; two sons, James Davis,Jr. of Houston, Texas, and Isiah Shoulders of Carlisle; two daughters, Erica Willis of New Orleans and Felicia Shoulders of Carlisle; his parents, James and Genola Davis-Myles of Carlisle; a sister, Delores Odoms of New Orleans; four grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 11a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Jones Chapel Church in Carlisle with the Rev. Roy Nicholas officiating.  Burial will be at Springfield Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Friday, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
