PORT GIBSON — Kordell Gevon Bates who died Friday, March 18, 2016, in Port Gibson. He was 25.
Survivors include his parents, Huron and Lucille Bates-Turner of Port Gibson; eight sisters, Kawanaa Broadus of Lake Charles, La., Kameica Gleming and Karnisha Byrd, both of Port Gibson, Cassandra Turner of Chicago, Audrey Felton and Rebecca Felton, both of Columbus, Ga., Angela Groves of Washington, Md., and Elaine Smith of Hermanville; three brothers, Kervin Stewart and Darrin Groves, both of Vicksburg, and Dwayne Turner of Chicago; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service be 3 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Mercy Seat M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Johnnie Hughes officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, with the family hour from 6 to 7 p.m., and Saturday at the church from 2p.m. until the service.
