Oscar Edward Gilliland of Panola died March 22, 2016, at his home. He was 78.

Born in Indianola, Mr. Gilliland grew up in Valley Park and lived in Southaven for 22 years. He lived the past 15 years in Como.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Gilliland; his mother, Annie Bell Gilliland; son, Gary Gilliland; and two sisters, Robie Gilliland and Sue Gilliland.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannine Gilliland of Como; two sons Mike Gilliland of Nesbit, and Steve Gilliland of Southaven; two brothers, Jim Gilliland of Trinity, Ala., and Robert “Bob” Gilliland of Anguilla; three sisters, Jackie Martin of Hattiesburg, Betty Hancock of Wesson and Addie Rutherford of Lake Village, Ark.; four grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Services will be noon Thursday March 24, 2016, at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert “Bob” Gilliland officiating. Burial will be at Vickland Cemetery in Delta City.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Pallbearers will be Mike, Steve, Hunter, Tyler and Garrett Gilliland, and Lamar Shelby. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin and Roger Gilliland.
