Funeral services for Wanda Pauline Davis will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Springhill M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
Ms. Davis died Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Merit Health Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 64.
A 1970 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, she received an Associate of Arts Degree in education from Utica Junior College, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mississippi Valley State University.
She retired from the Vicksburg Warren Public Schools in 2014 after 40 years of service. She was a member of the local and national chapters of the Mississippi Valley State University Alumni Associations, the Reunite Civic and Social Club, the Warren County Baptist Association, and various other organizations throughout the city.
She was a member of Bright Morning Star M.B. Church, where she served as secretary of the church for more than 25 years, and as secretary of the Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Davis Sr.; and three brothers, Lloyd Davis Jr., Eddie Davis and the Rev. Leevon Skinner.
Survivors include two sons, Leo Davis of Jackson and Sherrod Davis of Irving, Texas; one daughter, Amanda Michelle Davis of Knoxville, Tenn.; her mother, Velma Skinner Davis of Vicksburg; one brother, Raleigh Davis of Vicksburg; one sister, Arnette Davis Warren of Clinton; five grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
