James “Doug” Warnock

CRESTVIEW. Fla. — James “Doug” Warnock, age 53, of Destin, Fla., joined his brother, Bobby, to meet his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2016.

Doug was born Dec. 24, 1962, in Vicksburg to Bobby Warnock and Mary Sanders.

Doug was a loving son, brother, husband, and father and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Robin; son, Gavin; daughters, Gabriella and Hope; stepchildren, Justin and Lindsey; sister, Cindy; brother, Michael and half-brother Jeff.

Doug attended Warren Central, where he excelled in golf and soccer. After moving to Destin Doug graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 1982. He then attended Alexander City Junior College. While attending ACJC, Doug captained the golf team and was voted Mr. Alexander City.

Doug had careers as the head golf professional at the Olympia Spa, Dothan, Ala., and golf course superintendents, Seascape in Destin, and the DeFuniak Springs Country Club, Belvedere Golf Course in Arkansas and Houma Golf Course in La.

A Celebration of Life service will be 6:30p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016, at Davis-Watkins Crestview Memorial, Crestview, Fla. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
