No one was injured in a series of wrecks involving three 18-wheelers and a pickup in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 near Flowers that occurred about 4:30 p.m., a Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman said Saturday.

In the first incident, MHP spokesman Trooper Eric Henry said, an 18-wheeler carrying Budweiser beer went into the highway median to avoid hitting a car that slowed down in front of the truck.

The semi went into the median and turned over, spilling the contents of the trailer.

When the first truck was moving toward the median, a Toyota pickup behind the 18-wheeler slowed down and was hit in the rear by another 18-wheeler, knocking the pickup into the rear of another semi in front of it.

The accidents tied up traffic for several hours.
