Lady Vikes split softball doubleheader

Brooke Patterson went 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs, Kaitlyn Mitchell was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Warren Central beat Madison Central 7-6 Tuesday in the second game of a fast-pitch softball doubleheader.

Warren Central led 7-1 before Madison Central scored five times in the seventh inning to make things interesting. Mary Blair Odom hit a two-run home run during the rally, and then made the final out by flying out to left field with the bases loaded.

Warren Central (12-9) snapped a nine-game losing streak to Madison Central (14-7) that dated to 2010.

Madison Central won game one of Tuesday’s doubleheader 14-4. Odom was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and three runs scored, and Nicole Bergeron had an RBI triple.

Ashley Coley was 2-for-2 with an RBI double for Warren Central.
