Vicksburg police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile on Bodley Street early Friday evening.

Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said officers were called to Bodley during about shots fired in the area. Police officers arrived to find shell casings on the ground, but no one hurt.

Police later received a call that a juvenile had been shot in the leg and taken by a private vehicle to Merit Health River Region Medical Center, where he was being treated in the hospital emergency room, Williams said.

Williams said police have no suspects at this time.

No other information was available at press time.
