PATTISON — George Stewart died Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 86.

Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Gaines Stewart.

Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Stewart of Pattison; eight sons, Eugene Stewart and Larry Stewart, both of California, and Anthony McCay, James McCay, Charles McCay, Robert McCay, Lynn McCay and George E. Stewart, all of Pattison; five daughters, Essie Stewart of Clinton, ND Jennifer Smith, Janice Smith, Deborah Coleman and Barbara McCay, all of Pattison; three brothers, Claudy Stewart and William Stewart, both of Chicago, and Allen Stewart of Peoria, Ill.; three sisters, Bertha Smith of Greenville, Alice Smith of Chicago and Annie Moredock of Peoria, Ill.;  and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 11a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Whitehall M.B. Church in Pattison with the Rev. Leroy Dee officiating.  Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Friday from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the funeral home with a with a family hour from 6p.m. until 7p.m., Saturday at the church from 10a.m. until the service.
