Man arrested for possession

A Vicksburg man accused of having drugs and a firearm was held without bail Thursday. Tommy Holt, 22, was arrested at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday on the 1200 block of Cherry Street, and he was charged with possession of cocaine and weapon possession by felon, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

A call was made to report trespassing in the area of Mission 66 and Clay Street when officer Robert Arnold responded and found Holt, Williams said. She said Holt is on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

A man was assaulted and robbed Friday morning in Vicksburg.

At 3:50 a.m. Friday on the 1700 block of Military Avenue, a reported was made that a man was assaulted with a brick and robbed of cash and a pack of cigarettes, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

The man was transferred to Merit Health River Region Medical Center where he was treated for lacerations and released, Williams said. She said the investigation was ongoing, but police expected to have a warrant for two suspects by the end of the day.

Television missing in county

A television was missing Friday following a burglary reported Thursday in Warren County. At 5:45 p.m. Thursday, a 46-inch Samsung LCD television was reported stolen from a home on the 1500 block of Eagle Lake Shore Road, according to Warren County sheriff’s records. The rear door to the residence was reportedly damaged.
