A man accused of attempting to cause serious bodily injury was held without bail Friday.

Tony Smoots, 17, no address given, was arrested Thursday and charged with attempted aggravated assault, according to Warren County jail records.

The arrest stems from a disturbance at the convenience store on the corner of Cherry and Clay streets around midnight Sunday, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said. He said the investigation is ongoing.

Two held for violation

A Vicksburg woman and Pearl man were held without bail Friday for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Laverne Haymer, 36, 2623 Hannah Ave., and Frederick Denson, 37, 825 Boston Road, Apt. 28, Pearl, were held in the Warren County jail Friday on warrants from MDOC for probation violation, according to Warren County jail records.
