Handgun reported taken in auto burglary

A handgun was among the items reported missing in three auto burglaries reported Saturday, according to Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams.

She said the gun, a .357-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun valued at $700, was reported missing about 11 a.m. from a Ford F-150 pickup parked at the Waterview Hotel and Casino. A Samsung Galaxy tablet was also reported missing.

About two hours earlier, at 9:10 a.m. the owner of a car parked at the Holiday Inn Express, 4330 South Frontage Road, reported someone had broken into the truck and ransacked it. Nothing was reported taken.

At 8:20 a.m., two checkbooks were reported missing form a 2014 Toyota Tundra pickup parked at Ameristar Hotel and Casino.

Video game, DVD reported stolen

A PlayStation 3 valued at $200, controllers valued at $60, games valued at $210. a $20 DVD player and a $25 baby bag were reported taken Frida from an apartment in the 400 block of Lake Hills Drive, Vicksburg Police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
