Yard equipment taken from city building

Ten string trimmers, two blowers, two Stihl chainsaws and a pole saw were reported stolen from the city Street Department in the 100 block of Army Navy Drive, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Electronics, disks, taken from Waltersville home

Two DVD players, 200 movies, 100 CDs and an RCA video camera with a total estimated value of  $2,200 were reported taken about 3:45 a.m. Saturday from an apartment in Waltersville Estates, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Louisiana woman charged with auto theft

A Monroe, La., woman is charged of auto theft and DUI after her arrest Monday by Vicksburg police, Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Katherine George was being held in the Warren County Jail Tuesday on $10,000 bond. She is accused of stealing a car from the Ameristar Casino parking lot early Monday morning. The DUI charge stems from a traffic stop on U.S. 61 South after 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Williams said officers received a report about 7:30 a.m. Monday about a car stolen from the Ameristar lot. As the officer was taking the report on the stolen car, another officer stopped George on U.S. 61 South for DUI in the car reported stolen. During the traffic stop, dispatchers reported the stolen car and George was arrested.

Wallet reported stolen from car

A designer wallet was reported taken about 3:15 p.m. Friday from a 2002 Ford Escort in the 200 block of Starlight Drive, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
