George S. Jackson died Sunday, July 3, 2016, at his home. He was 87.
Mr. Jackson was a deacon at King David #2 Missionary Baptist Church. He was born March 21, 1929, in Fitler to the late Willie and Rosa Jackson.
Mr. Jackson served in the United States Army for eight years and was honorable discharged Oct. 18, 1957.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Jackson; two daughters, Jane (Romantle) Jackson-Octave of Gardena, Calif., and Memories Jackson of Barstow, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Mary Lisa (Edgar) Moran-Grayer of Brandon; three stepsons, Michael Eastman of Long Beach, Calif., Gary Eastman of Vicksburg and Rickey Eastman of Tallulah, La.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be noon on Friday, July 8, 2016, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation is Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
