“We are still trying to determine the motive for the shooting,” Williams said, adding it remains under investigation.

Jaylen Jordan, 19, is charged with two counts of shooting into a business, one count of attempted aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle, during the shooting, which occurred about 5:15 p.m. Thursday.

Williams said Jordan was arrested about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Lane Street. He was being held at the Issaquena County Regional Correctional Facility without bond pending an initial appearance.

A firearm was recovered, she said.

Besides the two men who were wounded, Jordan is accused of shooting at another man and shooting at a vehicle which was occupied by another man. Neither was wounded, she said, adding several of the shots fired by Jordan went into the store.

Police recovered 11 shell casings in the store parking lot.
