The Culkin Water District has issued a boil water notice that will impact at least 15 households.

The notice is in effect for all customers who get water from Shannon Lane and East Shannon Lane, which is located in Warren County.

Culkin Water District spokesperson Kadie Hearn said the notice was issued as a precautionary measure because of a break in the water line causing the system to lose pressure. The loss of pressure can cause contaminants to siphon in the water system.

Once pressure is restored, water system officials will take samples for testing.

It is recommended to boil water vigorously for two minutes.
