Man faces charges of commercial burglary

A Vicksburg man faces two counts of commercial burglary after his arrest Tuesday by Vicksburg police investigators about one hour after breaking into McDaniel Roofing, 760 U.S. 61 North, Capt. Sandra William said.

Joshua Lyles, 24, was being held without bail in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility pending an initial appearance Wednesday in Municipal Court. He is also accused in a July 22 break-in at the roofing company.

Williams said the arrest came following an investigation of the 11:15 a.m. Tuesday break-in and theft of tools valued $1,400 from the business by investigators Eddie Colbert, Bobby Jones and Curtis Judge. Lyles was arrested about 12:26 p.m. in the 4000 block of Pemberton Square Boulevard. The tools were recovered.

In other arrests:

• John Lewis, 30, was arrested Tuesday on a warrant for probation violation from Ouachita Parish, La., about 8 p.m. by officer responding to a call about drug activity. No local charges were filed.

• Megan Clanton, 23, was arrested Tuesday on a Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant about 3 p.m. in the 3100 block of Pemberton Square Boulevard.

 

Burglary reported in city

A television was missing Tuesday following a burglary reported Monday in Vicksburg.

At 5:45 p.m. Monday, a Philips 40-inch television was reported stolen from a home on the 2600 block of Roosevelt Avenue, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

 

TVs, clothing reported taken from home

Flat Screen televisions were among the items reported missing about 11:15 p.m. from a home in the 300 block of Lover’s Lane, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Reported missing were a 32-inch flat screen and a 40-inch flat screen TV and an assortment of clothing.
