County Golf Championship

The Warren County Golf Championship, a two-round, 36-hole tournament, is scheduled for Aug.6 and 7 at Clear Creek Golf Course in Bovina. The tournament is open to all Warren County residents or those holding a Clear Creek golf pass, and the entry fee is $110 per person. Clear Creek will be closed to the public on Saturday and Sunday morning, and will reopen at 11 a.m.

Holy Trinity golf tourney

The Church of the Holy Trinity will host its annual charity golf tournament to benefit Warren County Habitat for Humanity on Friday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Vicksburg Country Club. The event is a four-man scramble, and there will be door prizes, as well as prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive. There will also be a hole-in-one prize of a new golf cart.

Tara’s Tomahawk Tromp

The third annual Tomahawk Tromp trail and adventure race is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 13 at Tara Wildlife. The race is a 5K trail run that includes several outdoors skill stations that participants must navigate, including rifle, archery, slingshot, rope obstacles, knife and tomahawk throwing, swimming and more.

It’s an all-ages event, but participants younger than 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Entry fees are $20 to $30 for individuals, or $30 to $50 for a family. Raceday registration begins at 6 a.m. at Tara Wildlife, and the race at 8 a.m.

VSO registration open

Registration for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s fall season is now available online at vsosoccer.org. There are leagues for children ages 4-14, and the registration fee ranges from $60 to $90 depending on age. Early bird registration is available until July 31 and comes with a $5 discount. Open registration will continue until Aug. 21, and the season starts Sept. 5.

Gator Golf Classic

The inaugural Gator Golf Classic, a tournament to benefit the Vicksburg High baseball program, is scheduled for Aug. 5 at Clear Creek Golf Course. Registration for the two-person scramble is $150 per team, or $90 for an individual. Hole sponsorships are also available for $100, $225 and $500.

Sign-in for the tournament will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 5, and golfing starts at 1 with a shotgun start. An awards ceremony and dinner will follow at the Clear Creek clubhouse. A grand prize of two YETI coolers will be awarded, and there are also prizes for the top three finishers in each flight, for the longest drive and closest to the pin.

Packers registration

The Vicksburg Packers youth football team will hold registration each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday through Aug. 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Vicksburg Junior High football stadium on Rosa A. Temple Drive. Registration is open to boys ages 6 to 12. The registration fee is $25, and a state ID and original birth certificate are required.
