Shirley Ann Boone Bishop

Shirley Ann Boone Bishop, 75, a long time resident of Vicksburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, after a long struggle with cancer.

Mrs. Bishop was born in Washington, D.C., July 2, 1941, to Ralph and Myrna Boone. She was of the protestant faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Boone; and her sister, Betty Shea.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles Lewis Bishop Sr. of Vicksburg; her three daughters, Angela (Michael) Praznik of Houston, Texas, “Penny” Anna Marie (Richard) Adair of South Lyon, Mich., and Caroline (Tim) McKinney of Utica; her two sons, Charles Lewis Bishop Jr. and Brandon Kyle Bishop, both of Vicksburg; her brother, Ralph David Boone of California; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Blaire E. Batson Children’s Hospital, 2500 North State St., Jackson, MS 39216.
