Marilyn Pauline Beasley Chaney

Marilyn Pauline Beasley Chaney of Vicksburg was called home to the Lord on Aug. 5, 2016. Her family surrounded her at the time of her passing.
Her parents, Woodrow Wilson Beasley and Dorothy Brumitt Beasley; her husband, James Lucian Chaney, and her sister, Judy Beasley Smithhart, precede her in death.
Three children survive her, including Judy Smithhart Impiccini (Douglas) of Los Angeles, Amy Chaney-Wood and James “Jim” Chaney II of Vicksburg; her granddaughter, Emily Wood of Vicksburg; and her sister, Susan Beasley Herber (Ronald) of Covington, La.
Marilyn graduated in 1964 from Culkin Academy before attending Mississippi State College for Women where she earned her degree. She became an elementary school teacher, and taught for over 20 years. Her career began at Culkin and Redwood Elementary schools, and she retired from teaching at Porter’s Chapel Academy, where she taught the fourth and fifth grades. She also worked for 11 years at Rainbow Casino as a PBX operator.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at 9 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jeffery Murphy officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers are Tim Beasley, Tommy Beasley, Woody Brumitt, Terry Chaney, Dr. Robert Lee Giffin, Ronald Herber, Douglas Impiccini, Donald Jones, Tim McKinney, Jeff Montgomery, Roger Smithhart, and Heath Wardlaw.
