Melvin David Gibson passed away Aug. 10, 2016, at home with his beloved family. He was born Feb. 19, 1944, in Claiborne County to Claiborne “Bud” and Carrie Gibson.

He was an Army veteran and retired from Foam Packaging Inc.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alice Louise Gibson; two children, David and Resell; two grandchildren, Chris Williams and Deionna Bernard; and family and friends.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with Brother Richard Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
