Betty Holtschneider, 63, passed away Aug. 10, 2016, in Sellersville, Pa. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at Northside Baptist Church, Clinton. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with interment at Vicksburg City Cemetery.

Betty was born in Vicksburg, graduated from Cooper High School and attended Hinds Community College. Her husband Stan’s Air Force and civilian careers carried them to many locations, but their assignments in Germany were her favorite. Her gypsy soul enjoyed every new adventure, every new sight, sound, culture and of course shopping. They returned from Germany to Philadelphia in June 2015. Betty’s career began at Waterways Experiment Station (ERDC) Vicksburg, followed by various government jobs until retirement in 2007 at Defense Logistics Agency, Pensacola, Fla. No office she worked in was left untouched by Betty’s wit, love for fun and her always standing up for the underdog. She championed many causes and her love and compassion to her friends will always be remembered and cherished. Betty was a loving wife, mother and devoted grandmother. She made every house across the globe feel like home. She filled it with humor, music, good food, and most of all love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois Murphy of Vicksburg. Betty is survived by her husband, Stan Holtschneider of Harleysville, Pa.; daughter, Tiffany Dahl of Ashville, N.C.; son, Jeff Dahl (Elena) of Melbourne, Fla.; step-daughter, Heather Magga (Ben) of Portland, Ore.; step-son, Dane Holtschneider Salazar (Melanie) of Chicago; her sister, Linda Oubre of Gulf Shores, Ala.; and her beloved grandchildren, Logan Grimes, Dylan Dahl, Oliver Magga, and Javier, Angel, Lucas, and Eliana Salazar.
