Vicksburg under boil water notice

Published 7:05 am Tuesday, August 30, 2016

The city of Vicksburg is under a boil water notice until further notice after storms Monday evening damaged power lines to the city’s water wells.

According to information from the city, the loss of power caused a drop in water pressure in several areas of the city. The source of the damage has been located and pressure is being restored.

City water customers should boil their cooking and drinking water vigorously for two minutes or find an alternative source of water until water in the system is determined safe to drink.
