James A. “Jim” Cook

James A. “Jim” Cook died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at Merit Health Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 73.
Born and raised in Clark County, he had been making his home in Vicksburg since 1978. He was retired from BancorpSouth after serving 30 plus years of service and also serving in the Mississippi Air National Guard for 27 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and a member of Crossway Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Lee and Thelma Campbell Cook; his sister, Pauline Truhett and his brothers, Norman L. Cook, Jr., Edwin Cook and Clyde Cook.
Survivors include his wife, Linda G. Cook of Port Gibson; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Arias and Alfred A. Arias of Port Gibson; his son, James A. Cook of Vicksburg; his sister, Minnie Jean Fortenberry of Philadelphia; and his four grandchildren, Josh Arias, Jake Arias, Fayth McDaniel and Austin Cook.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. T.J. Tennison officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon Thursday until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be, Tony Guy, Ricky Johnson, Ricky Smith, Gary Olin, Richard Davis and Bob Lucroy.
