Funeral services for Herman Douglas Smith Sr. will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at King David M.B. Church No. 1. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 1 until 6 p.m. with the family present from 5 until 6 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mr. Smith died August 31, 2016, at Promise Specialty Hospital. He was 96.
