Michael Galen Collins

Michael Galen Collins died Aug. 23, 2016, as the result of an accident at his place of employment, Riverside Construction Co. He was 22.

Born on Feb. 9, 1994, Michael was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg, where he was a 2013 graduate of Warren Central High School.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Melissa “Leisa” Hearn Collins; his paternal grandfather, John Galen Collins; and his maternal grandfather, George Murray Hearn.

He is survived by his father, Standen “Stan” Sheffield Collins of Vicksburg; his brother, Tristan Howell and his mother, Kerry Howell of Vicksburg; his paternal grandmother, Anita Sheffield Collins of Vicksburg; his maternal grandmother, Faye Hearn Powell of Vicksburg; his aunts, Clara Hearn Oakes, Linda Sheffield and Barbara Hearn; and his uncles, William G. “Bill” Collins, the Rev. Douglas Hooks and Nelson Excel Hearn; cousins Amy Hearn Hayes, Zackary Hearn and Kayala Hendrick.

Funeral services will be noon Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be William G. “Bill” Collins, John Michael Collins, Chandler Bonelli, Ronald Mossman, Berle Reynolds, Ronnie Bird, Gerald Mossman, Charlie Curtis, Paul Powers, Michael Dupree, Austin Ethridge, Sean Walley, Cody Rogers, Zackary Hearn, Neal Massey, Phillip Grantham, Logan McCormick, Austin Hopkins and Roger Hopkins.
