Police respond to burglaries

Electronics and a handgun were among the items reported stolen in home and auto burglaries occurring in Vicksburg between Thursday and Sunday.

A Hi-Point .380-caliber handgun was reported taken about 5 a.m. from a 2005 GMC Yukon parked in the 4100 block of Washington Street, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

About the same time, a cell phone was reported taken from a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am parked in the 4800 block of U.S. 61 South, while two hours earlier, at 3 a.m., an undetermined amount of cash, a watch and several gold rings were reported taken from a home in the 2700 block of N. Washington Street.

Thursday, Williams said, 50-inch and 42-inch Vizio TVs were reported taken from a home in the 200 block of Beechwood Road.
