Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Carrie Paul Miller, 87, made her journey home Sept. 13, 2016.

She was a homemaker and widow of construction company owner Lewis Mobrey Miller Sr. She was a native of Barboursville, W.Va., and had lived in Vicksburg since 1946. Carrie was a lifelong Southern Baptist.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Albert Hanley and Goldie Young Paul; one sister; and two brothers.

Mrs. Miller is survived by a son, Lewis Mobrey Miller Jr. (Carolyn); daughters, Carlis Abney (James), Renee Miller, Diane Klaus (Ken) and Peggy Miller, all of Vicksburg, Connie Miller (Monte Pearson) of Dallas, Ore., and Cindy Ables (Art Payne) of Clinton.

She is survived by her sister, Jean Chapman of Barboursville, W.Va. She also leaves behind her special friend, Claudette Haggard.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at 11 Friday, Sept. 16, at Glenwood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tripp Purviance, Rusty Miller, Joel Miller, Taylor Miller, and Matthew Bailey, Keith Klaus, Kyle Klaus, Jackson Ables II, Fielding Ables and Nick Payne. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Colby Miller, Stacey Fewell, Claire Bordelon, Julie Speights, and Margaret Brewer.

Granny Miller took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and her 18 great-grandchildren. She was a fun-loving, good-natured woman who will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
