ELK VALLEY, Tenn. — Lois Petersen Lawson, age 90, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, in Decatur, Ala.

Mrs. Lawson was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Minnesota.

She and her husband, Ralph Lawson, raised their family in Knoxville, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lawson; her parents, Andrew and Blanche Petersen; three brothers; and two sisters; and one granddaughter, Wendy Lawson Barnette.

She is survived by sons, Steve Lawson (Marty) of Decatur, Andy Lawson of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; daughter, Judy Lawson Monroe (Mark) of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Jenny Karel (Nathan) and Susan Orman (Charles) of Vicksburg, and Curt Lawson (Brooke) of Madison, Ala.; and eight great- grandchildren.

Services will be held in Elk Valley, Tenn., at a later date.
