Warren Central’s big bats took half a day off Saturday.

The Lady Vikes beat Pearl, 10-5, before losing 9-4 to George County at the Brookhaven slow-pitch softball tournament. The five-inning loss to George County marked only the second time in 13 games that Warren Central (11-4) has failed to score at least nine runs.

Against Pearl, April Lynn went 4-for-4 with three RBIs, and Morgan Stewart was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Stewart hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning, and also had a double.

The Lady Vikes had eight hits in the loss to George County, but left seven runners on base in five innings. George County scored five runs in the fourth inning and four in the fifth, and won when the game ended because of a tournament time limit.

Stewart was 2-for-3 and scored two runs, and Ashley Coley was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Warren Central will play at Vicksburg Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.
