K-2 Flag Football
Redwood/Sherman 25, Bovina/South Park 0 – Jacolby Harris and Kristopher Walker each scored two touchdowns to lead Redwood/Sherman to the victory.
Bowmar 28, Beechwood 7 – Mincer Minor returned an interception for a touchdown, and also threw a touchdown pass to Beaux Halloran, as Bowmar beat Beechwood. Eric Gilliam scored on an 80-yard run and Jaheim Smith on a 65-yard run for Bowmar. Lester Martin scored Beechwood’s touchdown.
Dana/Warrenton 21, St. Francis 7 – Clifton Walker scored two touchdowns, and Seven West added a 60-yard touchdown run to lead Dana/Warrenton to the victory. Sadler Lambiotte scored St. Francis’ touchdown, on a 20-yard run.
Hinds golf tournament
The Warren-Claiborne Chapter of the Hinds Community College Alumni Association will host the Clyde Donnell and Othel Mendrop Memorial Golf Tournament Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Clear Creek Golf Course.
The tournament is a four-person scramble and begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A hamburger cookout and prize ceremony will follow the round. Flight winners will receive gift certificates to the Clear Creek Pro Shop, and there will also be bonus prizes for closest to the hole and longest drive.

City tennis sessions
The City of Vicksburg’s tennis program will conduct a free youth clinic and practice sessions during the fall. Sessions are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Halls Ferry Park courts. The clinic is for children ages 5 to 18, and there is no charge to participate. O’neal tennis mixer
The Beverly O’Neal Tennis Mixer is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Halls Ferry Park tennis courts. The event helps provide a scholarship for one local high school senior.
On Sunday, Oct. 16, the courts will host the United Way Breast Cancer Benefit.
Both events begin at 1 p.m., and donations are welcome. For information, call Rick Shields at 601-618-4757.
EMCC softball camps
East Mississippi Community College will host a two-day fast-pitch softball clinic Oct. 22 and 23 on its campus in Scooba. The first day of the camp will focus on hitting, and the second on defense. Both camps run from 10 a.m. to noon for the 10U-14U group, and from 1-3 p.m. for the 16U-18U age group.
The registration fee is $35 for one camp or $60 for both before Oct. 14, or $50 and $75 after that date. For more information, contact EMCC assistant coach Alison Owen via e-mail at aowen@eastms.edu.
