Jim “Jimmy” Pearson Sr.

Jim “Jimmy” Pearson Sr., 65, passed away Oct. 21, 2016, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Born in Warren County, he lived in Vicksburg for many years, and had lived in Valley Park since 1991.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, Fern G. Pearson; father, Huey Dedmon Sr.; mother Faye Dedmon; and brother Tony Dedmon.

He is survived by two sons, Jim “Casey” Pearson Jr. and William Pearson, both of Vicksburg; one daughter, Lisa “Eric” Reid of Fillmore, Utah; one brother, Rev. Huey Pearson of Brandon; one sister, Joyce Blackledge of Bentonia; and six grandchildren, Lillie Reid, Brooklin Reid, Ariel Self, Adison Pearson, Cody Pearson and Chase Pearson.

Service will be Wednesday Oct. 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Glenwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Yazoo County.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Huey Dedmon will be conducting the service under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Lee, Cody Pearson, Ellis Gazaway, Michael Lee and Danny Boler. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Boler and Howard Nelson.
