A 19-year-old Vicksburg man was in good condition at University of Mississippi Medical Center after being shot early Saturday morning on Drummond Street.

Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said Donald Lawrence told officers investigating a call about shots fired in the Drummond Street area that he was shot as he was looking in a car in the 3200 block of Drummond.

Officers searching the area located the scene Lawrence described, and the homeowner said he shot a man who was burglarizing his vehicle.
