The Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce isn’t your ordinary Chamber.

Maybe we’re a bit biased. Our company is a long time member of the Chamber and a strong supporter of it.

On Tuesday, about 14 Chamber members gathered at the office on Mission 66 and made phone calls to businesses that aren’t currently Chamber members, encouraging them to join. Fifteen of them agreed, and the Chamber’s rolls, and the good it is able to do for Vicksburg area businesses, have increased.

Chamber members will continue to contact others in the coming days and weeks.

Our Chamber of Commerce fills a vital role in our community. In addition to a myriad of networking opportunities, the Chamber sees the big picture and often works behind the scenes to help improve the quality of life here, like boosting whenever possible our schools.

Thanks to the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce, the Vicksburg Warren School District has the Leader in Me program. And again thanks to outstanding work by Chamber member businesses, that program is expanding to more schools here.

The Vicksburg-Warren Chamber is acting as the fiduciary partner with Ford Next Generation, which will bring to our high school age students programs that lead them to be better prepared for their life after high school, be that as a college student or one that is ready to go to work in a chosen field.

Membership in the Chamber, and attendance at its functions like monthly luncheons and Business After Hours, is a perfect way for you to meet others who have faced business problems with which you are struggling. It’s also a way to find new customers for your business, and for your business to gain credibility.

Our Chamber works behind the scenes with our elected and governmental officials on your behalf to make sure the environment allows you to have a profitable business.

The Chamber of Commerce here will be your behind the scenes advocate for your business, if you will let it.
