Mittie Towne Warren

Mittie Towne Warren died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 72.

Mrs. Warren was born in Vicksburg to the late Wiley and Ethel Morrisey Towne.  She was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy and St. Mary Dominican College of New Orleans  She taught in the Vicksburg Catholic Schools for 22 years and was a private tutor for an additional 20 years.

She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Towne and Ethel Kendrick; and a special cousin, Mary Kavanaugh.

Mrs. Warren is survived by her husband, James C. Warren; a son, Jim Warren (Gina) of Madison; two daughters, Kelley Sanders (Kevin) and Terrie Lynn (Joe), both of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Mason and Mary Martin Warren; two nephews, Jimmy Kendrick (Ginny) and John Kavanaugh (Charlotte), both of Hattiesburg; two great-nieces and numerous cousins and dear friends.

A graveside service will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at noon with Father Tom Lalor, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating.

Visitation will be at Riles Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be John Francis Kavanaugh III, Ed Hampton, Jimmy Kendrick Sr., Kevin Sanders, Mason Warren, Joe Lynn, Bill Yerger, and Billy Deen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wren Way, Tommy Harmon, and Stacy Douglas.
