YAZOO CITY — Margie Strain Downs, 73, of Vicksburg, formerly of Yazoo City, passed away at her home Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016.

She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are her sons, Kenny Downs and John Downs, both of Vicksburg; daughter, Susan Lewis of Abita Springs, La.; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and sister, Johnnie Mascagni of Greenville.

Mrs. Downs was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Frazier; husbands, Kenneth Downs and William White; parents, Johnny and Lorene Maxwell Strain; sister, Inez McPhail; and brothers J.T. Wood and J.D. Pierce.

Services will be at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City Friday, Dec. 2, with visitation starting at 11 a.m., followed by services at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Bobby Joe Hawkins officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren, Justin Brown, Gordon Downs, Taylor Wade, Dalton Downs, Corey Frazier and Cameron Lewis. Honorary pallbearers are Reece Mascagni and Chase Childers.
