Donald L. Goodwin died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at his home in Vicksburg.  He was 79.

Mr. Goodwin was born in Vicksburg to the late Roy Gordon Goodwin Sr. and Doris Louise Brown Goodwin.

He served in the National Guard for eight years. He was self-employed as a floor finisher. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty S. Goodwin; a daughter, Angela Goodwin; a son, Tony L. Goodwin; a sister, Charlesie Goodwin; and a brother, Roy Gordon Goodwin Jr.

Mr. Goodwin is survived by two daughters, Donna Carpenter of Vicksburg and Sherry Knutelski of Rapid City, S.D.; a son, Danny Goodwin of Flora; a sister, Wilma Sherard, of Vicksburg; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Yokena Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bobby Parker, Bruce Goodwin, Rusty Gordon, Eric Carpenter, Joe Brown, Clarence Lanier, Race Goodwin and Stan Knutelski. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Starnes.
