Funeral services for Walter L. Reed Jr. will be Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at noon in the chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 7 p.m.

Walter L. Reed Jr. passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home following a brief illness. He was 64.

He was retired from the Anderson Tully Lumber Mill. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter L. Reed Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Reed of Vicksburg; his son, Elliot Reed of Vicksburg; his daughter, Shannon Reed Atlas of Mobile, Ala.; his mother, Annie Lee Reed of Vicksburg; his brother, Paul Reed of Dallas, Texas; his four sisters, Elizabeth Holmes of Saginaw, Mich., Barbara Nailor of Vicksburg, Debra Rosser of Dallas and Cathy Williams of Dallas; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
