Ettie “Squeekie” Waters

Ettie “Squeekie” Waters passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on the morning of Dec.19, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Squeekie, after a long and courageous fight with cancer, has gone to sing with the angels in heaven. Squeekie, age 47, was born in Greenwood Dec. 12, 1969, to Tom and Ann Stoddard.

Squeekie loved life and people. She always had a smile on her face and a laugh in her heart. Her greatest joy in life was her children.

She was a great cook who regretted that in the end time of her life that she could not cook and bake for the people she loved most.

Squeekie also loved to sing, and God gave her the voice of an angel, which will be missed by those that ever heard her sing. Squeekie was a member of Hawkins United Methodist Church.  Before her cancer, Squeekie was employed as a teacher assistant with the Vicksburg Warren School District helping children learn. She loved teaching and she loved her students.

Squeekie was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ann Stoddard.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn; sons Kyle Rigsby (Jasper, Ala.), Blake Rigsby (Vicksburg), and her daughter Madison Waters (Vicksburg).

Squeekie is also survived by a brother, Mark Stoddard (Brandon); and a sister, Stacey Murphy (Lakewood, Fla.).

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. in Glenwood Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tommy Miller officiating.
