Evelyn Hurt Glenn

Winona — Funeral services for Evelyn Hurt Glenn will be Friday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. in the Oliver Funeral Home chapel with burial following in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Winona. The Rev. Ms. Tim Mims will officiate the service. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Lee Ferguson, Dee Warren, Scott Warren, Daniel Hurt, Alan Hurt, and Mark McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Hoover, Mr. John Simmon, Billy Chesteen and Andrew Witty.

Mrs. Glenn, just days shy of 95, passed away on Dec. 30, 2016, at Tri Star Medical Hospital, Hendersonville, Tenn. She was born in the Ellison Ridge Community of Louisville, on Jan. 3, 1922, to James Thomas and Ruby Ellie Eaves.

Evelyn and her first husband, Davis Hurt, were members of First Baptist Church of Winona. They were owners of the Smart Shop for women’s apparel in Winona for many years.

She is preceded in death by Mr. Hurt; her second husband, Ben Cooley Glenn; her parents; and her brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Glenn is survived by two daughters, Glenda Hurt Ferguson of Hendersonville, Tenn. and Wanda Hurt Warren (Gene) of Vicksburg; son, Douglas Hurt (Barbara) of Midlothian, Va.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
