Funeral services for Shelia Denise “Sunshine” Beamen Lumpkin Parks will be Sunday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Rudolph Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. There will be a visitation hour from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, in the funeral home.
Mrs. Parks passed away Jan. 1, following a brief illness in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center. She was 45. She was a homemaker and member of the Holy Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, John Parks of Vicksburg; her two sons, Eliezer Beamen and Jessie Lumpkin, both of Vicksburg; her daughters, Latara Beamen Armstrong and Dijohnna Parks, both of Vicksburg; her father, Chester Beamen of Biloxi; her stepfather, Ray Fisher Sr. of Vallejo, Calif.; her mother, Juanita Fisher also of Vallejo, Calif.; her six brothers, Craig Bell of Niles, Mich., Lawrence Beamen of Vallejo, Calif., Terrence Mixon of Vicksburg, Quinten Fields of Killen, Texas, Fredrick Mixon of Houston, and Ray Fisher Jr. of Vicksburg; her four sisters, Dinah Loudermilk of Vallejo, Calif., Adrienne Mixon of Vicksburg, Tammy Beamen of Biloxi, and Hattie Guise of Vicksburg; her godson, Carlos Albert of Vicksburg; her goddaughter, Shamesha Lenoir of Vicksburg; her godmother, Beatrice Collins-Cory; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and others.
