Funeral services for Ellis “Bud” Burks will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Springridge Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Henry Cemetery, under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 7, and on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mr. Burks died Jan. 6, 2017, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was 73.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Burks; two sons, Ellis Burks, Jr. and Cedrick Burks; one daughter, Yolanda Atkinson; three brothers, Phillip Burks, Melvin Burks and Steve Burks; four sisters, Mary Dodd, Florence Prentiss, Shirley Burks and Venetta Taylor; and a number of other relatives.
