Johnie L. Butler died Jan. 3, 2017, at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley, Calif. He was 89.

Services will be noon on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Rohelia Missionary Baptist Church in Utica, with the Rev. Jessie Brown officiating.

Burial will follow at Rohelia MB Church cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
