Richard A. Gordon

Richard A. Gordon, 58, of Vicksburg, passed away Jan. 20, 2017, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born July 14, 1958, in Vicksburg. Richard’s profession included a 40-year career as a machinist with LeTourneau, Ricky’s Welding, VMI (Allrig) and Anderson-Tully.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Gordon; and his brother, Tommy Gordon Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patti H. Gordon; one daughter, Rani (Andrew) Oswalt of Florence; two sons, Jason (Casey) Gordon of Vicksburg and Dwayne (Kristi) Gordon of Monterey, Calif.; five grandchildren, Alyssa Claire and Evan Gordon of Vicksburg, Ava and Kaleb Oswalt of Florence and Gabriel Gordon of Monterey, Calif.; three brothers, Bobby (Helen) Gordon of Hot Springs Village, Ark., David (Linda) Gordon of Vicksburg and Donnie Gordon of Vicksburg; three sisters, Cecilia G. Harris of Pascagoula, Margie G. (Tony) Dardeau of Vicksburg and Mary Frances G. (Lee) Henry of Byram.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and special family member, Gloria Davenport of Vicksburg.
A special thank you to Kay McDaniel, CNFP, and Tabatha Fulgham, Mission Primary Care Clinic, of Vicksburg, for their continuing concern and care, and also to Tracey Penley at Southern Care Hospice. Visitation and Prayer Service with the Rev. P.J. Curley will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, Monday Jan. 23, 2017.
A private service for the family will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society of Mississippi, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
