Polk at PCA fundraiser
Former Mississippi State baseball coach Ron Polk will be the featured speaker at a fundraiser for Porters Chapel Academy on Feb. 27.
The banquet will begin at 6 p.m., and will be held at PCA’s gym. Tickets are $30, and includes dinner and the program. Tickets are available at the Porters Chapel Academy office, at 3460 Porters Chapel Road, during business hours. All proceeds from the fundraiser benefit Porters Chapel Academy athletics.

Dodgeball registration
Registration for the Vicksburg Dodgeball Association’s 2017 season is open until Jan. 31. The adult co-ed league plays games every Thursday evening in February and March, and is sponsored by Hawkins United Methodist Church. The registration fee is $150 per team. Scorekeepers, umps needed
Scorekeepers and Umpires are needed for the City of Vicksburg’s upcoming youth and adult softball and baseball seasons. Employment forms can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation office at 100 Army-Navy Drive. For more information, call 601-634-4514.
Kings basketball league
Registration for the Kings Empowerment Center’s 5-on-5 basketball league will continue through Jan. 27. There are three age divisions for the male basketball league — grades 6-7, grades 8-9 and grades 10-12.
The registration fee is $150 per team.
The season begins Feb. 4 and continues through April 1, with a league tournament on April 8. Games are played on Saturdays. Registration forms can be picked up at the Kings Center, Monday through Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. For more information call 601-634-4788.
Hinds baseball camp
Hinds Community College will host its Winter Baseball Showcase on Jan. 28 at Joe G. Moss Field in Raymond. The camp is for players in grades 9-12. On-site registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the showcase at 12:30 p.m. The cost of the showcase is $75 per player.
All players must bring cleats, turf shoes, a bat and batting gloves.

MSU coaches clinic
Mississippi State’s baseball program will host its annual baseball coaching clinic on Jan. 27 on the Starkville campus. The clinic is free.
Registration will run from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. in the Palmeiro Center adjacent to Dudy Noble Field, and the clinic will finish at 2 p.m.
