Edward A. ‘Bucky’ Buckner III

Edward A. “Bucky” Buckner III died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center at the age of 65.
Born in Vicksburg, he was a graduate of H. V. Cooper High School and the University of Mississippi. Bucky was the owner of Buckner and Buckner Certified Public Accountants from 1973 until present.
He was a member of local, state and national Certified Public Accountant organizations. He was an avid golfer holding eight Warren County championship titles. Bucky enjoyed hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. He was one of the founding members of the Ridgeway Hunting Club.
He is survived by his son, Edward A. “Eddie” Buckner IV (Megan); three grandchildren, Addie Shaw Buckner, Ruth Anne Buckner and Stella Louise Buckner; mother, Mrs. Ruth Vicknair Buckner; two sisters, Carolyn Buckner Hall (Jerry) and Sue Buckner Whitaker (Danny) and a brother, William Percy “Billy” Buckner (Cherry).
Bucky was preceded in death by his father, Edward A. Buckner Jr.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenlawn Gardens Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017, at Riles Funeral Home from noon until the service.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children, 2500 North State St., Jackson, MS 39216.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Price, Don Morton, Wilson Gilliard, James Comans, Mike Caruthers, David Sessums, Wayne Prescott, Crosby Simmons and Tom Murphree.
