A Vicksburg man will serve more than 12 years in prison after pleading guilty in Warren County Circuit Court to theft and weapons charges and having his probation and parole revoked in three previous cases.
Circuit Judge M. James Chaney sentenced Andrew Dustin James, 26, to 10 years in prison with five years to serve and five years suspended after completion of 60 months post release supervision. James pleaded guilty to possession of a weapon after felony conviction, receiving stolen property and burglary of a vehicle.
The five-year sentence was for the weapons charge. Chaney suspended the sentences on the other charges, pending completion of 60-day post release supervision.
Chaney revoked James’ post release supervision in two cases, and his probation in another for violations, sentencing him to two years and 266 days each on the two cases, and two years on the third case. All four prison sentences will be served consecutively, meaning they must all be served before he is released, for a total of 12 years and about 5 1/2 months.
In other cases:
• Phillip Vanderford was sentenced to a total of four years in prison after pleading guilty in Circuit Court to burglary of a dwelling and possession of a stolen firearm.
He was sentenced to nine years in prison on the burglary charge with four to serve and five suspended pending completion of a 60-day post-release supervision period, and 15 years in prison on the weapons charge with four years to serve and 11 suspended pending 60-days post-release supervision. The sentences will run concurrent, meaning they will be served at the same time.
He was also ordered to pay $3,738.50 in fines, fees and court costs.
Vanderford received a suspended five-year sentence, was placed on five years supervised probation and ordered to pay $1,584.50 in fines, fees and court costs after pleading guilty to larceny of a vehicle in a separate case.
• Laura Elizabeth Fielder, 35, was sentenced to 10 years with nine suspended and placed under one-year house arrest in the Mississippi Department of Corrections Intensive Supervision Program after pleading to possession of a weapon after felony conviction. She was also placed on five years’ post release supervision and ordered to pay $1,384.50 in fines, fees and court costs.
• Nathan Kirkley, 28, was sentenced to 12 years with seven to serve and five years post release supervision after Chaney revoked his suspended sentence for robbery for violating the terms of the court-ordered suspension.
